    surfaces theory and books

    hi all.

    could someone tell me where can i get some books about the surface theories. i wanna know how to divide a surface, such as world expo sun vally. hope someone understand what i am saying.

    Sheng,
    the book Architectural Geometry talks a lot about Surface theory.


    In your particular case you can easily model the underlying surface with one Nurbs Surface. However you will probaly need to use some kind of free topology data structure (Brep(=polysurface) or mesh) to define the grid on it. Make sure you carefully decide where your singularities are. In this case singularities are the nodes that have only 5 members coming into them instead of 6 on the regular ones. Then a tool like Weaverbird can do quad and triangle subdivisions for you. Then a relaxation tool like Kangaroo might help you equalize the size of your triangles.
